At Golden Bear, best value means something specific: every visit includes everything that can help you get better — muscle work, cupping, taping, a custom exercise program, even nutritional counseling — for one flat price. No add-ons, no nickel-and-diming, no surprise invoice on your way out.
Here's why that matters. Ever go to a healthcare visit and leave with a bill way higher than your co-pay, because of all the costly add-ons you felt pressured into saying yes to? A heat pack here, cupping there, extra manual therapy time tacked on — each one its own line on the bill. That's the norm at a lot of practices. It's not how we do things.
What's included, and what it's worth
Here's what everything we offer is actually worth, based on published national pricing for these same services when other practices bill them separately. Scroll sideways to see it all.
| Service | At Golden Bear | Billed separately elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| Chiropractic adjustment | Included | $45–$120 per visit, alone |
| Manual muscle work (trigger point therapy, myofascial release, ART) | Included | $35–$86 per 15 minutes |
| Assisted muscle work (rapid release, Theragun, IASTM) | Included | $15–$45 per session |
| Heat or cold therapy | Included when needed | $10–$45 per visit |
| Cupping | Included | $35–$100 per session |
| Kinesiology taping | Included when needed | $15–$25 per application |
| Custom exercise program | Included | $40–$85 per session |
| Dietary & nutritional counseling | Included | $60–$150 per session |
| Extra time with your provider | Included (regular or extended visits) | Often billed in separate 15-minute increments |
| If paid separately, per visit | One flat price at Golden Bear | $255–$656 elsewhere |
Add-on figures reflect published national and cash-pay pricing data for these services as of 2026; actual prices vary by provider and region. The total assumes one instance of each service in a single visit and excludes the untimed “extra time” row.
Why we're the best value
Real value means getting everything you actually need included in one visit, not doled out a la carte. Once you add up what's normally billed separately elsewhere — muscle work, modalities, taping, exercise guidance, nutrition support, and real time with your provider — Golden Bear comes out ahead, even though we're not always the lowest number on a flyer.
You pay for the time, not for what's going to make the clinic the most money. We're here to get you better with whatever we have available, not to buy a Porsche.
The case for choosing Golden Bear
Add it up and the choice isn't close. One flat, published price. A doctor who does his own hands-on work instead of handing you to a rotating tech. Muscle work, cupping, taping, exercise programming, and nutritional counseling included at no extra charge, on every single visit, forever. A total value of $255–$656 per visit elsewhere, folded into one number here. No insurance fights, no itemized surprise bill, no upsell at checkout. That combination is genuinely hard to find, in San Leandro or anywhere in the East Bay.
Already getting care somewhere else?
It's worth a second look. If your current provider charges per add-on, or you've ever left a visit surprised by the total, ask yourself what a Golden Bear visit would have cost for the same care: everything included, one price, no surprises. Switching costs you nothing but a phone call — your first visit here is a full intake, so there's no continuity to lose. If cost, transparency, or feeling nickel-and-dimed has ever bothered you about chiropractic care, this is the fix.
No card fees passed on to you, either
Ways to pay: cash, check, HSA/FSA, and all major credit and debit cards. Golden Bear never passes card processing fees on to patients. Some practices add a surcharge of up to 3% when you pay by card; we cover that cost ourselves, because a flat price should stay flat. It’s the same philosophy behind everything on this page.
Common questions
Why does a visit here cost more than the cheapest clinic I found?
Some clinics advertise a low adjustment-only price, then charge separately for muscle work, taping, modalities, or extra time. Once you add those back in, our flat rate usually comes out even or ahead — and you know the full cost before you book, not after.
Is muscle work really included, or is that an upsell at the visit?
It's included. If muscle work, cupping, taping, or a modality would help that day, Dr. Corey includes it as part of your visit. There's nothing to say yes or no to at checkout.
Does this apply to every visit type?
Yes. Intake, regular, and extended visits all work the same way: one price, everything that helps included. See the four visit prices for exact numbers.
Is there a cheaper way to get regular care?
Yes — a membership or a 10-visit package both save 10% on regular and extended visits, on top of everything already being included.
