Dr. Corey Blanchette opened Golden Bear Chiropractic in San Leandro in 2022 with one goal: give the Bay Area's LGBTQIA+ community, and everyone alongside them, hands-on chiropractic care from a doctor who already understands them. No explaining yourself first, no rushed visits, and no surprise bills.
Why he started Golden Bear
Too many people put off care because they dread vetting a provider, or explaining their body, identity or relationships before anyone listens. Dr. Corey built the practice to close that gap: a judgment-free intake, unhurried one-on-one visits, and flat pricing that keeps care within reach for the communities who need it most.
Training and techniques
Dr. Corey earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life Chiropractic College West. He adjusts using Diversified, Thompson Drop, Activator and Muscle Energy Technique, and pairs adjustments with hands-on muscle work, including Rapid Release Technology and Theragun percussion therapy, plus nutrition guidance. Every plan is matched to your body, not run as one routine for everybody.
Recognized by the City of San Leandro
In June 2026, the City of San Leandro recognized Dr. Corey for his work supporting the local LGBTQIA+ (GRSM) community. That recognition reflects the same community-competent care every patient receives at Golden Bear, whether they're part of the community or an ally.
Off the clock
A Rhode Island transplant, Dr. Corey has called San Leandro home since 2015. Neighbors in Best Manor know him as the "Mayor of the Loop" for pitching in on yard work, small home projects and much-anticipated holiday baking. When he's not with patients, you'll find him in the woodshop, in the garden, or hiking somewhere in California with his dogs, Meatball and Jelly.
