Thank you for considering us for your patients. Golden Bear is a one-doctor chiropractic practice in downtown San Leandro, built for LGBTQIA+ patients and their allies. The City of San Leandro recognized the practice in 2026 for its work with the local LGBTQIA+ community. This page covers what referring partners usually want to know.
Who we help
- Back, neck, and joint pain in patients who have avoided care because of past experiences with providers
- Binding-related back, rib, and shoulder pain, before or instead of top surgery (our binding guide)
- Recovery-phase posture, neck, and back strain after gender-affirming surgery, once the surgical team has cleared the patient
- Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and hypermobility spectrum disorder, using low-force techniques (our EDS approach)
- Headaches, sciatica, disc-related pain, and sports and repetitive-strain injuries
How we work
- Chosen name and pronouns from intake, used by everyone, every visit
- A full neurological and orthopedic exam at the first visit, with referral out when findings call for it
- Consent before each technique; patients can decline anything
- Low-force options available: Activator, drop-table, and muscle energy technique
- Hands-on soft-tissue work built into visits
Post-surgical referrals
- We see post-surgical patients only after their surgical team has cleared them for activity.
- No manual work on or near incisions, grafts, or donor sites until the surgeon says so.
- We follow your written restrictions exactly. If you share a standard post-op restriction sheet, we'll keep it on file.
- Anything that causes pain stops. Concerns about wound healing go straight back to your team.
- With the patient's consent, we'll send you a brief note after the first visit.
Pricing and insurance
We're out-of-network with flat, published prices, so patients know the cost before they come in. We provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and monthly memberships are available starting January 2027. Current prices are on our pricing page.
